A useful research finding should have a path to application. An engineering problem should be capable of inspiring new research. An emerging engineer should have access to the knowledge and mentorship needed to grow.
That is the ecosystem we want to build.
Every technology has strengths, limitations, operating requirements, and conditions under which it performs best. Our responsibility is to understand those realities.
Disciplined analysis is better than making important decisions without understanding the evidence. We make our assumptions clear and communicate uncertainty honestly.
